CBG's First Second Giveaway
First Second Books has launched their inaugural spring line of graphic novels. The new publishing imprint has entered with a bang, six graphic novels that span the ocean and the ages: European translations, English originals, fiction, non-fiction, vampires, aliens, cartoonists, comics for kids, and comics for adults. The publisher in cooperation with Comic Book Galaxy are giving away five complete sets of the six book line-up as well as one Grand Prize.The six books are (in alphabetical order with links to more information and sample pages):
A.L.I.E.E.E.N. by Lewis Trondheim
Deogratias: A Tale of Rwanda by Stassen
The Fate of the Artist by Eddie Campbell
The Lost Colony Book 1 by Grady Klein
Sardines in Space by Emmanuel Guibert and Joann Sfar
Vampire Loves by Joann Sfar
The Grand Prize winner will also receive:
- A First Second t-shirt
- An original ink and wash cartoon from :01's editorial director, Mark Siegel (whose work can often be seen on the First Second blog)
- "A Late Freeze," a mini-comic from Danica Novgorodoff, :01's designer, which won the Isotope Award for Excellence in Mini-Comics.
How To Enter and Win:
- Send an E-MAIL to Comic Book Galaxy with your name, address, and telephone number. In the SUBJECT LINE of your e-mail, put the words FIRST SECOND CONTEST ENTRY.
- E-mails must be received by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006. Winners will be chosen in a random drawing in early June. The total number of winners depends on the number of entries received.
- Employees of First Second Books, contributors to Comic Book Galaxy or other comic book-related websites and their family members are ineligible to enter.
- One Entry per person and/or e-mail address, please.
- All entries become the property of First Second Books and Comic Book Galaxy.
- By entering, participants release Comic Book Galaxy, First Second Books, their subsidiaries, affiliates and agents and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges.
